Single County Eligibility

This component allows the user to see if one county meets any of the four Drought Monitor triggers. To see if a county qualifies, select "I want to see if my county is eligible" on the home page.

1. Select a state from the state drop-down list.

2. Select a county for the selected state from the county drop-down list.

3. Select the grazing period range. Enter the dates as "MM/dd/yyyy" or click on the calendar button and select a date.

When you first click on the button, you will see the current month. You can move backwards through the calendar by clicking the left arrow or by clicking on the month and year line (Jan, 2014). You can also select a month or year by using the drop down menus as shown below

Select a month and then a day. Do this for both the start and the end of the grazing period.

The start date must be before the end date and both dates must have a value.

4. When you are satisfied with your selection, click the Check button.

The tool will display the results for all of the Drought Monitor triggers in the Results section. If the county met the requirement, the box will be blue with a checkmark. For the eight-consecutive-week trigger, separate boxes will be displayed for each eight-week consecutive period. If the county did not meet the requirement, the box will be pink with a "no" symbol.

To check another county, change your selection and click the Check button again.
